Programa de Pós-Graduação Stricto Sensu em Odontologia

The systematic application of questionnaires to graduates, carried out by the Graduates Monitoring Committee set up in 2020, has been a valuable tool for assessing the vocation of the Program. It should be noted that, in addition to the efficient work of the committee, this initiative has the engagement of the Collegiate, the General Coordination of PPGs and the university's support sectors, which play a fundamental role in this mission to monitor and understand the trajectories of graduates.

Considering the graduates of the last five years (2016-2024), information was collected from a total of 96 former students, obtaining a significant return of 60 responses, corresponding to 62.5% of the universe surveyed.

The graduates of the Postgraduate Dentistry Program at Universidade Paulista (UNIP) have distinguished themselves in various academic and professional spheres, demonstrating the quality and relevance of the training they received. The positive impact of the Program is directly reflected in their careers, consolidating the excellence of the teaching and the capacity for professional transformation provided by the course.

In the field of leadership and management, many graduates have reached strategic positions, taking on the coordination of postgraduate and specialization courses, the management of clinics and basic health units, as well as academic positions as university professors. Others have established themselves as scientific consultants and leaders in prestigious institutions, including the Brazilian Navy and the Mais Identidade Institute.

In terms of academic recognition and financial support, several graduates have been awarded grants from renowned institutions such as CAPES/PROSUP, as well as international scholarships, such as the Fellowship at Sint Jan Hospital in Belgium. In addition, their research has been widely recognized, resulting in nominations for awards of great importance, such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Humanitarian Innovator and those awarded by the Brazilian Society of Dental Research (SBPqO) in the period evaluated.

Internationalization is another distinguishing feature of the graduates, who have expanded their academic and professional horizons at prestigious institutions such as the National University of Córdoba (Argentina), the Technical University Poznan Politechnika (Poland), the Universität Siegen (Germany) and the Fellowship at the Sint Jan Hospital in Belgium.

From a social perspective, graduates demonstrate a strong commitment to the community, engaging in projects aimed at providing dental care to vulnerable populations, including indigenous peoples, communities in the northeastern hinterland, public schools and organizations such as Amigos do Bem, the Brazilian Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology, Projeto Salve and the Arnaldo Vieira de Carvalho Institute.

In addition, they continue to contribute significantly to scientific and academic advancement, actively participating in leading research groups such as the Mais Identidade Institute, the Center for Specialized Orthodontics (COE) and the World Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma (WORMAT) project.

These results are indisputable evidence of the excellence and impact of the training offered by UNIP's PPGO, preparing its graduates for careers of relevance both in Brazil and internationally.
